Description
During so many industrial processes, vast holding tanks and pressurized pipes store contained water. The nature of water is to be free-flowing, visible to the naked eye. But in modern societies we need to control the water. In controlling our natural surrounding, we feel civilized. For some, access to water in the form of swimming pools and bottled mineral water exudes luxury. For others, access to water is a matter of life and death. This painting illustrates this dichotomy, where some have risen to the top of the ladder while others have not even begun to climb.
