Description
To begin a painting, I like to first choose the color palette. Working gesturally, the movement begins to appear on the canvas and I follow that. This collection of yellows could be the bronze day at the end of a long and parched summer. Or the way the sun hits the landscape just inland from the beach. It captures a stillness on the ground that interplays with the movement of the swirling sky.
