I have begun work on the SEMAC grant of “Exploration of Cold Wax and Oil” and thus will begin posting every week. Will try hard to adhere to this schedule. This will help with the final report and the capstone exhibit in April. Maybe even do some video of some demos coming up. I will talk about the technique, my process and how it evolves over time, and how I plan on pushing the envelope with this new medium. I have started and am excited about the possibilities. There are many paintings begun already. Some on watercolor paper that are seen as small exploration works and ideas, some on wood substrates which allows for lots of scraping and digging into the layer applying wax, texture and oil paint. The progression goes from top to bottom. The white marks are pastels and oil sticks. Also used graphite and charcoal.
